broken brake

the front drum brake was making a loud noise,when i pulled the wheel i found that the back shoe was broken. i need new shoes and a drum. it's a 1972 with drum brakes 4 lug are they 9 inch or 10 inch. if someone knows what they are i could use the help.

 

i am confused .

"your brake is broken"... isn't a brake what makes it broken?...if so then nothing is broken... it's your brake... ...frank...

Simply measure the inside diameter of the drum. Parts available through any local auto parts store.

 

4-lug drums are 9" diameter.

 

Frank and I have the same mentality, how can a brake be broken when it is already a brake?

I have a 72 4door down here that is 4 lug. If you want it give me a call 610-377-6357. Come down and pull it off. If they are good I'll give it to you at a real good deal.

 

thank you i now that they are 9 inch. i wonder if i broke them by lighting up the tires. i read it here that you can burn rubber with a 250 six and i just had to try. and it works great. i know no mater how old i get i still act like a kid.
