    Hi ya all!

As usual something is broken, I changed the headlight switch the other day and unfortunately I manged to break the little white plastic thing that connects the speedo cable to the gauge...

Anyone got any like "homemade" solutions for this one or do I have to buy a new cable and set it up from the tranny to the gauge, I came by a thing on ebay and just need some help from someone here to tell me if this is something I might use instead of buying a whole new one...

    Thank you all!!!

Unless your car has the electric speed sensor thing behind the dash (looks like a little round piece of cast metal on the speedo cable with a couple of wires comeing out it), that cable on ebay will not work.

I have never broken one......but I have small nimbly fingers!!

I think it is the heat. Souther climate's are not kind to plastics.

Must have been the cold here... It just went right off, I´m thinking about using some kind of metal clip that screws on... Any ideas???

I was able to get mine off today with no problem. Lots of skinned knuckles though.

I've always found that if I know how something goes together I can usually take it apart and vica versa.

Anyway, am posting some pics of how that stuff is attached back there for the benefit of y'all who might be undertaking the cluster removal and might use a little insight.

Glad it helped------I'm still kind of figuring out this thread stuff. Maybe it'll show up under a separate thread soon.

I broke mine several years ago and simply put the cable housing back on and it has never slipped off! You don't need the clip. Just put the cable back onto the rear of the speedometer and you'll be OK. If that doesen't work, there's always duct tape!
