I read a lot of post and I just want to be sure of what I read. I buy LDO bucket seat (I thing see picture) from 1973 maverick 4 doors to put in my 1975 comet 2 doors with cat for sure but I already got rail for cat car. So if I install my rail, on those bucket seat, in my car, it'should fit, right?? do I forgot something??
From what I have understood .. since I just went throught this same fact finding mission ... is that both the seats and the tracks are different ... so it appears the answer to your questions is no ... you cannot put non-cat tracks on cat seats and expect it to work ...
Plus the 4 door buckets dont fold foward to allow access to the back seat. I've installed non-cat rails in cat cars. You only have to shorten the passenger side inside rail. The other 3 work fine.
Thanks mavaholic for the advise but I already know I was thinking to condemn the back seat to save on recover and put more money on sound system cause a friend of got a audio shop so he is ready to make mesome real good deal But I will look at it this week end how it will fit and let you know. thanks and other let me know what you know about non cat seat, with cat rails
Update: This week end I install My rails form a cat. car on My seat and it fit very well on the seat so I wish that these rails a realy from a car with cat. cause in fact I realy don't know what is the difference so next step is to install it in the car may be next week end if the snow melt enought this week I let you know my progress
Here is a lengthy discussions with pictures of the different rails ... let us know what you got and how it works out ... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=4019
that's a great thread, here's what I got (see picture) so I assume that it not gonna work in my 75 comet with cat hump. So what about cutting the cat hump in the floor and weld a metal sheet to cover this big hole so the rail will have all the place it need????. do you thing it's gonna work or where the rail stud take place in the floor are at a different height ????
I put a pre-cat seat in my 77 by reversing the spacers (moved them to the outside rail) and using a BFH to lower the hump a bit. I think I took it a bit too far as the seat leans in a teeny bit. Nobody can see the bashed up floor once the carpet is in.
That's a good idea but sorry for my ignorance but what is a BFH?? And does the passenger seat will not stand higher than the driver side???
