I got a set of early model bucket seat rails and I can't seem to make them fit my floorboard. On the inside there is a cover, so to say, does this face foward or rearward? Also it was a bench seat car, do I use the original holes on the outsides or do I have to drill 4 new holes? Thanks for any help.

The 70 has a different shape to the floorpans, so you'll have to do a little work to get them to go in. I can't answer your question without looking at my own tracks though.

Yes Frank I got the cups also. And Matt I was a little worried about the floor pans being different. Seems like everything about a 70 is just a little different.

A 1970 Maverick never had bucket seats...so the floorboards are quite a bit different.

Ward; I just installed Honda seats in my 70, and it was a chore. The seats I have no excuse for, and I did get the Mav seat rails. Ended up using only the outside ones, and used Escort rails for the inside. Still had to space them a bit. I used 3" angle iron to get the spacing horizontally I needed, and used pipe pieces to get the vertical spacing. Not an easy job, but a good afternoon's chore. If I can get some pics, I will post them. The early seat tracks don't always do the trick.

Craig, I was afraid of that.

    Earl, I would appreciate that.

I sure do hate it when the plot thickens. I was hoping that this would be a bolt in affair and I was doing something wrong.

Honestly Ward......you might be better off with using some other type of rail. Sell the Maverick rails to somebody else and find something else....I think it would work out the same and the Maverick rails can be sold for a profit!!! :D
