I need some work done on my rear bumper. 77 Mav. It has some rust and a few holes about the size of a golf ball. Also there are old bumper stickers on there. What should or could I do?

sounds like its time to swap to small bumpers :)

but as bad as your makinf them sound i would imagine replacing thme with even another set of big bumpers would be the best alternative. theres a few guys on here, including my self who couldnt give away their decent big bumpers

Find a new bumper but in the mean time, take the bumper stickers and cover the holes with them. :D

when i was doing the small bumper swap and taking the rear bumper off it literally broke off because of the rust. I had unbolted the brackets off the frame and started yanking but the bracked mounting on the bumper was toast lol

Golf ball sized hole in a chrome bumper, holy he!! what does the rest of the car look like? Those bumpers are some pretty thick metal compared to the rest of the car, it the rest of the car in decent shape and if so how in the heck is that possible???

Well to start with those bumpers trapped snow, sand, salt, mud, etc in them and that trapped moisture,

Usually the inner rear bumper is way worse than the bumper itself, took me a few years to find a good one, and yes, I like big bumpers! The chrome on the outer bumpers was pretty crappy, I have a NOS 74 rear bumper...but....

All in all the car's exterior is in decent shape save for the bumpers. The front seat on the interior is shot, but everyting else is ok. The frame by the front door hinge needs repaired. So I don't know how the bumper is in bad shape. Based on all the info. I received it would be in my best interest if I just replace the bumper. If any one knows what type of bumper would be a good fit please let me know. Especially something that is cheap or free, Thanks
