Well, after having my car together and running mostly care free for 7 years now, something was bound to happen sometime. I lost DRIVE gear in my C4. I read as many threads as I could before posting. Fluid does not smell burnt, Reverse is fine and I checked the vacuum at inlet to MV. I installed a new white stripe MV (no help). The 1-2 shift is fine at low RPM's, but, when jumping on the throttle at the 1-2 shift the car shutters and shakes. When shifting to Drive it rev's as if it were in neutral. I think I might have some sticking valves. What do you think? Is there such thing as freeing up sticking valves without pulling the tranny?
The valves are all in the valve body, so if something is sticking there, you can drop that without pulling the trans. Still a messy job, no matter how you look at it. C4 finds its way into every nook and cranny of your garage, your house, somehow even ends up on your desk at work/school!!!
