How long is the cable that came with the shifter?
Keep in mind the cable will go through the floor pointing towards the front of the car, curve over the top of the transmission curve towards the rear of the car then curve over the tailshaft of the transmission around to the drivers side and attach to a bracket which is held in place by to transmission pan bolts. They have to be gradual bends to prevent binding.

yeah i must admit the B&M on is a bit long but it should be ok it.

maverick1970 is right though if you wrap it around starting from the front of the front of the tranny curving to the passenger side of the tanny then over the tail shaft and then curving back over to the linkage.

just becareful of your exaust and that the cable don't melt.. i have had that happen a few time. real fun stuff!

I melted my first cable on my Star Shifter. The second one has lasted for over 20 years. Those zip ties are a great invention!

if you bought it new check the directions. they show you how to route it around for a c-4. if you don't have the directions you might think about going to an auto parts store that carries them and look at the directions. i asked at the local checkers store if i left a deposit could i go and make copy of them. they had no problem with it. these guys are right though. you need to make a gradual loop.:)

the longer the better. the more you crimp the cable to route it, the worse the shifter will work. gentle bends and keep it off the exhaust.

OH yes I bought it brand new and route the cable as they show but I'm asking if I can get a cable that goes to the bracket on trans. without turn it there and there and how long I need

I don't think you could do it with a shorter cable. You would have to put some sharp bends in the cable at the trans and shifter to connect in such a short distance. You shifter would then bind.

AN other question : what did you put aroung the hole that made to pass the cable to avoid scratch it on the floor hole

My suggestion would be to go to a performance shop, buy a 3 foot piece of heat wrap/hose. It cost me about $7 a foot but well worth it.

i just bought a brand new star shifter, it says it works with the c-4 the c-4 has 6 positions (Park R N D 2 1) first off the park neutral safety switch and the reverse light switch would not be in the right position when the shifter was in P R N, reverse lights come on in N etc. so i made a shorter link so the lights would come on in the right gears, now that is working. so i go to shift the shifter and i have P R N D 2 1 then when i shift in to ratchet mode it shifts one more notch below 1, not only does it click but it also moves the cable trying to shift the trans below 1 gear. then when in ratchet mode (below 1st) i shift up once that puts it in 1st hit it again and it goes to 2nd, and that's it. i have to pull the handle to get it back to drive. the shifter has 7 positions (P R N D 2 1 and the wtf? gear) when using ratchet mode. has anyone else had this problem?

Make sure the tranny is in Neutral and the shifter in Neutral. The pin on the end should go in without forcing it. If I remember right B&M says to shift into park, check it again, then shift down to first and check again. Do you have a set of the instructions? If not I can get mine out.:)
