c4 fitment ?

    Will a c4 that was on my 289 fit behind a 200 6cyl ? I will have the 6cyl trans if I need anything off it....

    It should but more than likely you will need to change the bellhousing. Have you compared the two transmissions?

    I don't have them side by side yet, but I will have both the 6cyl and 8cyl trans to swap over what is needed... I was thinking swapping the bell would be all I would have to do... well maybe the converter too....

    What year six and what cubic inch ?
    There are two sizes of input shafts - up to 1969 the C4 used a smaller input and uses a different converter. After 1970 the C4 uses a larger input shaft. If you want to use the small shaft C4 on a later engine you will have to use the early converter.
