Replaced my carb with a rebuilt one,got everything hooked and noticed a leak under my door it was trans fluid....to m,ake a long story short after moving around the kick-down i noticed that it was dripping where it connects to trans. Is this normal as it is not leaking while the car is running or after being drove. Thanks for any info Frank

    "Normal", not really.

    But VERY common.

There are two theories for why it leaks.

Most common is a worn seal.

But there is a group of people who believe that the shaft that comes out that hole was actually machined incorrectly and is a little oversized at some point so the seals never actually work 100%. I have seen a simple fix for that oversized part, that is supposed to make the seals seal better.

The easier fix, and the one I use, is a beach towel placed strategically under the car, and an extra quart of Type F near the tool box.

Yes, I have replaced the seals. Fun job.
