My machanic installed another C4 in my 72 Grabber. The linkage is reverse of the column indicator., park is in low etc. Are C4's shift linkage different. The guy I got the trans from rebuilt it and had it in a 66 Mustang.
Also, I have a stall converter, it is smaller maybe a 10", from an early Mustang 289, C4; but, it would not fit the 72 250 I6 flywheel. Can the flywheel be changed to make it work?

    Thanks,

    Rick

Some linkages have the reverse and/or backup light switch on the linkage. You mechanic could had simply flipped the linkage or used your old linkage.

    The 6 cyl has a 0 balance flywheel...the 289 has 28 ounce balance. I used a V8 toque converter on my 250

    Thanks RT.

He said he flipped the levers and welded them somehow. Anyway it worked. Then the trans would not shift. He was getting another modulator. We'll see tomorrow.

    Thanks again,

    Rick
