I have heard 2 or 3 different specs for modulator pins. '74 MAV w/302, stock C4: How long should the pin be???? I'm totally confused!!!! . ******************************************************* IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS IT'S GONNA COST YA!
There are several lengths for the modulator pins. Most folks want a C4 to shift later than they should so they choose the longest pin - 1.625" but for better transmission life and fuel economy you can use a pin that is 1.55". with a stock C4 (no shift kit) the longer pin may cause some small incidental problems when backing out of the throttle after a full throttle 1-2 shift. the C4 may shuttle 2-3-2-3 under some conditions. Using a green stripe modulator is probably more important than pin length. the green stripe modulator is well suited to moderate to hard driving and at light throttle conditions it performs very smoothly. It is a good all-round modulator. It only uses one vacuum line so if your car is equipped with a two line modulator you will have to disconnect and plug the smaller of the two lines. Does this help?
Thanks Paul, this info is mucho helpfull. Syd **************************************** IF IT'S GOT BOOBS OR WHEELS IT'S GONNA COST YA!
