Ok, I know I am about to open a can o' worms, but here goes! Everyone keeps pushing me to gut the aod (she is on her last leg) and go with a c4 or c6. Any thoughts or choices? What I am hearing is its half as expensive and better performance...Just a little background info, 302...8in...Soon to be upping the gears to 355 or 388 not sure yet. Thanx.

street driven or track-ish car? If its a DD or taken on long trips i would keep the AOD.. if its a trackish car..C4... drive the AOD in third.. you'll get to experience what the c4 is going to be like on the highway...

edit'' I don't recall if you can leave in third.. isn't the shifter P-R-N-OD-2-1? or P-R-OD-D-2-1 If its the latter leave it in D...

I would not call it a DD, but, I enjoy driving it often, upto 3-4x weekly. Nothing long distance, (over 50+ miles) rarely on freeway. What I want is a little "kick" around town.:drive:

Hook up the c-4 and save the AOD to rebuild in your spare time. That way, if your driving habits change in the future, just swap it back in. A few hours work and some ATF and you can go either way. That is exactly why I have an AOD laying around my garage right now. :D
