So I had the front pump gasket go out on my 73 c4 because the frnt pump bolts came loose. No big deal easy fix (or so I thought). I replaced the gasket and torqued the bolts to spec. after putting the trany back in i found that i could not turn the trany in neutral to bolt the drive shaft back in. I could turn it slightly in one direction only with great force. I decided to put a spare tailshaft yoke in the tail shaft so i could add some fluid and see if the other gears worked. I started it up and all gears work fine except for neutral. in neutral the yoke turns the same direction as it dose in 1st, 2nd and drive. no weird noises or anything! anyone else have this happen or have any ideas?

A tight transmission will turn (like it is in forward) in neutral.
I just wonder if the thrust washers were in place after you reinstalled the pump......
