Rain, cold, then warm then cold again. Am getting tired of all this funny stuff. Want to go racing, have had the Mav and the Fairmont sitting at the track for several weeks now and need to hear and feel the engines breathe some life down the track. Supposed to start TNT on the 13th, hope to get a few runs in.
Did find out that a fellow racer who was running a 460ci in a 280Z, has been converted to our cause. Came over and got a side window glass for his newly built "Maverick". Going back to a small block in it, where he found the car is a mystery around here. Not many left to purchase, I think he is sticking with the Saturday night, braggin rights, racing, instead of brackets?? Started preping another 351 just to have something to do while it is cold. Funny thing is, when it gets hot and humid in July, I will p*** and moan about that too. Strange things happen to elderly people, don't you know.:banghead:

You had to rub it in, fog was so thick this morning you could cut it with a knife and the temp was 29. Three hous later sun is out and 60. Went to a scrap yard and found a 66 289 short block, one cyl is cracked but that is repairable. I only wanted the crank and rods anyway, front timing cover has a 1 1/2 hole in it for a oil fill tube or something. Never saw one like it before but may be a good ebay item. By the way, spent some time in Ft. Hauchuca back in 66, traveled by cab to Tombstone and got completely anialated on Canadian Club, in the Crystal Palace Saloon. The marshall came in and was wearing levi jacket, boots and carrying a lever action 30-30. Seems the town was almost as if Wyatt was still there. Good times and good booze in your fine state back then.
