Can I use stock rocker arms & pushrods for this cam in my 302

    Wondering if I can use my stock rocker arms & pushrods for this Cam I want to use in my 302 motor in my 72 Maverick Grabber, The cam is the Comp Cams Thumper cam, part# 31-601-5, grind# 279TH7,rpm range 2000-5000, lobe center 107, Lift INT-.491 EX-.476, duration at .050 INT-227, EX-241, Thumprâ„¢ : High performance street, stock converter ok, best with 2000+ converter and gears. Choppy/thumping idle. Its a hydraulic flat tappet cam

    Not with the stock heads and pressed in rocker studs. It'll work the studs out of the heads. About the biggest cam you can use and not have this happen is Comp's 268H. You'll need to get new springs too, if you still have the originals

    Get the complete recommended kit and have the screw-in studs installed.
    Your rockers may not even handle that much lift without the slot binding on the stud.
