I've searched here and Google images and as far as I can tell, here's a topic not covered yet...

I've got a '71 and a '76. The body on the '76 is 10 times better than the '71. I was planning to swap out my big with the small bumpers on the '76 BUT...

Although the '71 has it's rust issues (top was vinyl / rippled rear quarters), it runs and drives great. So just for purposes to re-sale the '71, does anyone who is familiar with the frames think I can mount the big bumpers on the '71? Or am I better off swapping bodies? Or a total different approach I'm not seeing all together???

I have not gotten into the '71 yet so have no idea what it will curtail? But I've tore the '76 down and very familiar with the big bumper setup. Plus I pulled the motor and tranny from the '76 with a new 5.0/t5 ready to go back in. So it's simple to go about any route with the '76 at this point. But it would be extremely helpful for someone more knowledgeable with the 71/76 differences to fill me in with the best approach before tearing into the '71... The '71 is do-able but may be more $ than it would be worth to end out with a small bumper mav??? Plus I'd hate to sale my rust-free '76... And want the small bumpers!

I want my cake and to be able to eat it too...
    Thanks!

I would fix the car with the LEAST amount of rust. Then sell what you don't need. I wouldn't mess around with trying to put the big bumpers on the 1971 just so you can sell it....but I suppose it is do-able

Put the small bumpers on the 76...You have all the parts you need to do it (Thats the hard part)...Part out the 71...You can probably make more $$ in parts than you will trying to sell the complete car (Sad but true) Especially if the 71 has rust issues.

Thanks and sounds about what the plan will be. But just for discussion, after looking into this deeper, it is just like the information for "small bumper swap" except the holes need drilled at different locations. But appears they would work.
