car hesitates

    I have a 71 200 i6 with a 3 speed on the column. When the car starts it starts fine, idles fine & runs cool. When I drive it under light throttle it runs very smooth but if I give it more throttle it starts to hesitate or 'buck' a little. It does it mostly in 2nd gear and a little in 3rd. If I floor it , it will break up a little then run smooth. Any known problems with ignition or possibly carb? Thanks for any help.

    When was the carb rebuilt? Could be a accelerator pump?

    accelerator pump blues sounds like to me Dave is probably right

    I don't know when or if it's been rebuilt but i will try that. Thanks for your help. (y)
