i have been asked this a lot recently, so i thought it might be a good idea to start a thread on it.

being an ocean away you all might realize that your average american vintage car is not a common sight in europe. but the car scene in general, be it mopar gearheads or the usual mustang guy, has steadily grown and the scenes in surrounding countries, especially switzerland and the netherlands, let alone scandinavia are quite big. we don't have dragstrips over here, so racing is mainly done in "historical" events on courses like the nuerburgring or the hockenheimring, where formula 1 events also take place. but car meeting are quite common, so i'll share some pictures with you!

first, we have the 25th anniversary meeting of the fmcog - the first mustang club of germany.
the mustang is very popular over here, but to be honest i hardly can stand the view of an early coupe any more. walking around the cars on a meeting i often wonder where the individuality is in that - the color? the option list? but there are some special models to be found. i'll let the pics speak for themselves:

next we have the "Kustom Kulture" meeting. held regularly on a small airport with even an 8th mile race event it's one of the more interesting meetings. having a subcultural background myself it's amazing to see how this scene with all it's cool cars, music and tattoos is growing. the guys talent and detail work is very impressive...

I guess you have to have the token Camaro.
That Mustang show, looks just like something we'd have over here. How many of those cars are T5's, and not Mustangs? Or are most of them imported?

most mustangs are imported. my own came out of oregon.
ford cologne offered the mustang over here, and used the name "T5" due to trademark issues as the name was already registered in germany - for a motorcyle. but those models are scarce, i guess not too many of them survived.

WOW Thomas - that show had more American cars than the shows that I have attended lately here in Pennsylvania

The thing that I notice anymore is the amount of people that pick up their brand new Camaro, Mustang or BMW and bring it straight to a car show - I could have looked at it at the dealer, if I needed to, just the week before.

    Very nice pictures :thumbs2:

    glad you like it :)

i have not seen a right hand driven mustang - would have to be a british made custom conversion. i doubt that many enthusiasts would go THAT far... maybe some of the few british members can chime in here.

i'll keep on posting pictures from other events. if you think the mustang meeting was big, wait till you see some of the biggest here in germany, taking place in two weeks. that'll host several hundred cars over the whole three days.

    i'll keep you updated :)
if you feel like it, you can browse a lot more on here, it's the mustang forums mentioned above: http://www.dr-mustang.com/index.php?name=coppermine
