my question is: it looks like there is a "cut" halfway, between the seats. Is this normal? on all kits?

Try Auto Krafters--there is a specific mag, on line, just for the parts etc for Mavericks! Not sure of the pricing but there are a lot of items for our cars there--and they up date now and again with items that once were not available. Thats why it is sometimes cheaper just to order new from them rather than pay EBay prices etc. So beware/ck them out before you go ebaying or even salvaging. Granted some items are not found, but at least you know what they are and what you should pay.
And yes the carpet is in two sections--they over lap under the front seat.

Two piece kits are fine...I have one, and it is a lot easier to fit into the front.

I agree w/Earl on the 2 pc kit. I installed a 1 pc. kit and it was a little bit cumbersome handling it. It turned out ok, but if I wud do it agn - it wud be 2pc.
