Can someone tell me what size carrage bolts I need to fill the holes in the bumper when I remove the bumper stops?

If I remember correctly, which rarely happens, the actual carriage bolts for the bumper were too large for the bumper guards as those holes were round and not square. The front bumper outboard carriage bolts that attach the fender brackets to the bumper should work.

I will get back with you tomorrow on this. It took me 3 tries to get the right size for the rear bumper and even then, they were a pain in the ### because they were too long (had to pull the rear bumper to install them). Also, I needed several oversized washers to fill the gap between the carriage bolt square and the nut. Credit 5+ hours for just this simple work. I did eventually find chrome plated ones at the local hardware store, but don't expect a perfect fit, the rear bumper is curved where they are located.

The bolts behind the front license plate work perfectly in those holes. If you run a front plate, no one will ever see that those bolts were removed, however those bolts can be purchased from bumper supply shops as well. At least you'll know what size to get.

Thanks for the info CL. At this time, I'm just working on the front bumper. Getting rid of those cruddy stops.

3/8" for the rear, but now I see you just want the front. Good Luck

Yeah. I'm starting with the front. Later on, the rear.
