Im pretty sure someone has done this before, but i have never seen any pics. so does anyone have a pic of a mav/comet with the bumpers painted a cast aluminum color? im not a big chrome guy, im painting all my window trim black, and ive been wondering how the bumpers would look in a cast aluminum flavor.
In for pics also,i plan on get'n early fiberglass bumpers and paint'n alum to look like the old tbolts.
Here ya go....I painted mine with metalic silver, then clearcoat. Not really cast aluminum, but close....
Wow that looks great, im gonna paint the mags on the falcon with that! thanks for the tip. btw: did u use a rattlecan clearcoat? if so what brand? thanks
I always called that "Mexichrome". I have 11" wide Cragars done like that just waiting for the tires...6 years now...where are you tires?
I used Krylon rattlecan for both. I think it looks better than the chrome or aluminum paints. They tend to fade after a while, and when fresh, look cheap to me. The metalic silver should stay the same.
And to think I let that car slip my grasp. Sure wish I had them wheels back at least not to mention the rest of the car. You sure have her looking good. I just wish I had the money to start on my 72. clint
