Catalytic Converter

    Has anybody put a set of Catalytic Converters on there car. I was thinking of puting a set on mine just to get rid of the smell

    What smell do you want to get rid of? If you're running rich and that's the smell you are talking about don't put cats on it. Oil burning and over rich conditions will take out a cat by fouling it.

    It's not that it is runing so rich that raw fuel is runing out the tail pipe, it's just dad enough to be unpleasant at a stop sign :cry:!

    Catalytic converter will not help...but tuning the carburetor will help

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    If its exhaust odor you smell...Tune the engine and or fix the exhaust system...It may have a leak allowing carbon monoxide into the car...That can be lethal!
