If your car is a 70' It wont have a catalytic converter. If it does you need to check your vin...Its illegal to remove pollution control devices from your car. All that aside. If you want to remove one...A sawzall with a good blade will remove it if you dont have clamps/flanges to unbolt so you can knock it off.

    Am I wrong but I'm thinking that a 1970 also didn't come with a 250 :hmmm:

The later 1970's could be had with a 250, starting in January of 1970.

Yea converters didn't appear till 74, they just unbolt off. At least the one on my 302 did.

Someone might have swapped in a later engine though....that's possible.

I may be wrong but I think the 80s 6 cylinders had the converter right after the manifold.

haha.. guy asks a question about removing a catalytic converter and it turns into two pages of year and engine contradictions. :hmmm:

:Welcome: new guy. you'll be ostracized for inaccurate statements and ignorance of your car. atleast, thats how he'll probably feel lol
