Been on the phone to chroming services and found it's gonna be about $850.00 total, thats to have both bumpers rechromed $600.00 at Tri Cities, and $125.00 each on the boomerangs at R & D plating, don't know that I will have the boomerangs done or try painting them yellow, I have a couple of sets so I can trial and error on them, seems to me the pits in them could be epoxied, than sanded smooth and should look pretty good painted but I don't know, thoughts and or suggestions accepted!!!
The bumper prices are about what I paid last year at tri-city. The boomerangs were done by a local company here, I got them both done for $150. When I picked them up, he said never again for that price. I know someone else on here had theirs done at the same place.
You know I wish someone would reproduce the boomerangs or make some billet ones, theres money to be made there!! I would gladly pay $150.00 or so for some reproduced ones and come out ahead compared to chroming.
I dont understand why the boomerangs are so expensive to do? I can understand a decent amount for the bumpers, but damn. 150 EACH? I'd rather paint or get them rattle canned "chrome" Thank GOD mine are rechromed looking brand new I love the old ladie that had my car. She took good care of it! There are ZERO rust holes, or pits in the body. Only thing I had was small amounts of surface rust!
I had some done and they didn't turn out well. Problem was the pitting in the pot metal. They jacked the price up and redid them twice and they still came out poorly. Have another pair with just tiny pits that I might have redone some day when I run out of other items to spend money on.
