Anybody using these. They get rave reviews and the big guys are using them with great success. Man these would go good with my Road Race maverick. High Rpms with decent low and good mid. I would use the 185 versions for a 331 stroker. If i go this route. It's tempting........but so damn expensive......

Only thing I would worry about is limited intake options.

Excellent heads, but they are canted valve heads, which means you'll need different pistons, different intake, different headers (that itself is a big problem with a Maverick or Comet), most of the front accessories won't work (alternator, PS, etc), valvetrain is different, etc. Again, they are excellent heads but for the amount of work that it takes to make them actually fit, it makes you wonder if it's worth it or not. Especially on a little 331.

If regular 351c headers fit these heads, you have choices.
Big tubes too, none of the small stuff that has to be squeezed in with a Windsor.
Cleveland's exhaust doesn't compete with the shock towers.

Not trying to start anything here, but a 331 is usually based on an 8.2" deck. Most of your headers that are cleveland specific are based on a 9.2" deck. Big difference there. You'd want to have headers for a Boss 302 (8.2" deck but with the large 4V exhaust ports). 9.2" deck headers MIGHT work but they'd be pretty low in the chassis (no or very little ground clearance) and the collectors will be TIGHT against the transmission. Powerglide would be a no-no as would a C6 with their wide pans. Custom headers would be the best bet, but also expensive.

Just thought I'd put that out there, FWIW.

I could build my own headers.:)

I built the 1 3/4 inch ones for my brothers 331 with RHS heads. I thought this car would be ready for the MCG meet in Misery but my brother said he wouldn't finish the car until oct 2008 or so....

    I may build a 15/8 stepped 1 3/4 set for mine if I stick with the 306 and roush 200 heads(ported)

I was just thinking out loud.
    still pondering.....

    Good point.
I wasn't thinking about that angle!

However, the same company that makes the various 9.2 Cleveland headers also makes a selection of 8.2 Boss 302 headers.

    Tubular Automotive...
Available from 1.875" to 2.125" tubes.

Man I love those heads, and Tubular Automotinve does make a 2 sets to fit our cars, one for the 2v and one for th 4v heads on the 302 base block. I believe these heads have the 2v intake and exhaust ports. This where Tom and I disagree: I have the Price Motorsports adapters so that you can run any windsor intake on those heads, I know Tom, square port to round port but I think you can open the intake runners enough at the mating surface to make a clean flow, haven't done it yet but have studied it. Anyways you can run EFI or carb or what ever, it is basiclly a Bogus Boss. Toms motor is cool and I would love to finish mine some day but I have actually been thinking more about the new aluminum Edelbrock cleveland heads. Alot cheaper, may not be the same performance but I'm going for the COOL factor.:thumbs2:

Great heads, great headers, great intake. You will have to build your combo around it, but you can make serious, serious hp with them. Use the Tubular headers, and you can do it.

I was this thiiiiiis close to going that route w/ a Procharger, but......
