Although not a fan of chop tops, the ones that looked the best in my opinion, was the ones that you really didnt notice. Less is best.

Dennis is right, less is best

I agree with dennis. if you chop it too much it would look IMO fugly. Maybe if you only chopped it a few inches like three it would look respectable. Dont go crazy and do anything too rash or out of hand.

Wow, just the initial thought process of chopping a Mav wears and scares me. Any top chop is major, but a unitized car is really a study of strength in the roof of a car. I would rate this a 10 on a skill level of 1-10 with 10 being the hardest. I for one would be glad to see a nice example of this, yet, I would NOT want to be involved in the undertaking.

There used to be 2 chopped mavs in the Louisville area. One was a heavily chopped 4 door that really looked pretty good, it was lowered, painted silver and had some graphics on it. The other was a 2door and wasn't chopped very much. on the 2 door I think they may have only chopped the front, they had to add a wedge to the door post that was about 1 1/2" at the bottom and taperd as it went to the top to the normal post. Haven't seen either one of these cars in about 6 years. Anyways I also agree with Dennis, any vehicle can get out of porportion if it gets cut too much. I really like it if you have to look to know that it has been chopped. I have been in the proccess of trying to finish my truck for a couple years now and here are a couple pics of it. It is chopped about 2" maybe a little less, but I think the best part of the chop is that it just makes it look lower not squished. These are not the best angles to show the chop but it is all I have now.
