Hey I can't seem to find anything that says how to remove the chrome trim on my rocker panels? I want to get my fenders off but I need to remove this chrome first without wrecking it. Anyone done this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Theres some pretty big clips holding it on, if there still there, usually, you can pry it out gently with a big flat screw driver, to see what holding it. Sometimes it's plastic clips, or they could have used metal ones with a thin wire, that clips into the trim..

If they are like a Torino I had, there is a sheetmetal piece of the clip that sits at an angle, and there is a wire that sticks out at an opposing angle. If you can get in there and unhook the wire, the sheetmetal part is shaped with curved ends so that you can rotate it, one-way only, away from the wire. Once turned, it releases the trim.

My first Comet had rocker trim, but that was 30 years ago, and I just don't remember exactly what was holding it on. Hope it is the same, very easy once you figure it out.

Look inside your front fender....there will be a nut to remove there.

Typically on a Ford, the rockers mouldings are held on with the metal clips (described above) at the front and rear only. A series of plastic clips at 10-12 inch intervals span the middle.
