Not cheap... and surprisingly small... but they fit in you palm and you DON'T want to drop it on the ground or it picks up rocks.

Using a lubricant to make it float, you 'drag' the flattenned disk of synthetic clay across your car and lift off debris embedded in your paint - tiny particles of dirt, rust, etc. (brake dust is metallic and acts like a tiny wedge that jams into the paint. Waxing just covers them over).

You fold and knead the bar into itself to keep the outside surface clean.

I also used mine between painting to remove overspray. I also used them to smooth out my bumpers and hubcaps.

Makes the surface feel smooth like glass - ready for polish and waxing.

Instead of tossing my old, dirty bars, I use them with a spray bottle of water for the rough primer and paint on my project car.

I also use it on the outside of all the glass. it removes bugs, water spots and acid rain.

I used it on my truck once after I did some grinding on metal near it, and the hot metal dust stuck in the clearcoat. A couple days later, it rained and it started to rust, and the paint looked like crap. So I tried the clay bar, and surprisingly, it pulled the metal and rust right off with minimal effort. I did the glass, too, as frank stated.

It is amazing what it pulls off.

Keep a chunk of the clay to the side and don't use it, so you can compare the dirty bar to the clean chunk after you are done.

Just make sure you do as whisky stated and fold over the clay bar often to keep the dirty area inside the clay. If you do this, the clay bar will stay cleaner for a very long time.
