    Hey all,

It's been awhile since I've made a thread on here, although I peruse the sight on a regular basis. The maverick had been sitting for awhile, now I'm getting it going again, the factory 2-barrel carb started crappin on me, so the car has been running horrible. Got it over at the shop now, I'm having a Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, and Edelbrock 600 CFM carb put on. I have 2 things that I need addressed to complete this project.

    1. The Edelbrock 4-barrel carb is larger than the factory Motorcraft 2-barrel, so now the coil will not fit in the factory location. I know I could put it on the shock tower, but I'd like to hear and see other ideas / locations, I've seen some mounted near the distributor, show me what you've got and tell me what bracket I need to get?

    2. Factory kick-down linkage is not correct for this application, what kick-down linkage do I need?

    Thanks

There is linkage kit you need to buy for the carb that will hook up to your kickdown.

I like to get the coil as far away from the engine heat and vibration as I can.
Edelbrock sells the down-shift kit you need.

So, you are using an Edelbrock intake/carb with a stock coil and the stock coil bracket? my mechanic said it wasn't going to clear. Do I need a different coil bracket?

I'm pretty sure I see a speck of dirt Craig,,, can't tell you where!

    Looks really good!

Maverick73, just have to adjust, move bracket and position coil and bracket to fit.

That is a Pertronix Flamethrower coil....painted to look like a stock coil. it is a stock coil bracket.
