Ok my old man wants to paint our grabber black, and that would be ok with me, but its got some dings and stuff that I am not going to take the time to fix, not to mention it mostly just for crusing and racing, not a show or anything. Black shows dents and dings really bad, so I am looking for new color combos. I was thinking of going with the two tone grabber style with the top half the grey thats in this pic, and then the bottom half red. Then put two red stripes down the center....any opinions on that scheme? Peace Lox
LoxMan - I really like the gray/silvers (the car you posted looks likea dark gunmetal grey color?). I also have a 71 Mav that will be getting paint in the next year and it will be a gray/silver. Not sure of the exact tone. I'm planning on dual racing stripes in gloss/semi gloss black. Since you asked for opinions - I'l let it fly.....I would be nervous about combining the grabber two tone with the red racing stripes. My opinion - pick one - either the racing stripe or the grabber two tone. Just as long as you are happy with it - that is all that matters. You might want to take a photo of your car and play around with colors on a photo editing program. Cleaver
yeah the more I think about it I am kinda leaning towards painting the whole car a grey tone and doing the flat black racing stripes like the old machs....
I had planned on giving mine the Eleanor paint job or going with a dark charcoal and satin black grabber stripes so that the stripes would barely be visible. Or maybe I'll just leave it blue since you guys are doing yours in Grey/Silver.
