My three on the tree is broken. I found one at the junk yard and is a 70 Maverick. Will the steering wheel work in my 71 Comet. The ignition is not on the column of the Mav, its located on the under dash compartment, don't know if this is normal or not? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

The key on the dash is normal for 69.5 Mavs. I believe the column/plugs are different between the two years. To use the keyless column in your Comet, I believe you would need to switch columns and wire them up and wire the dash key into your harness. Yes, the steering wheels should swap. What broke on your 3 on the tree column? I have a 3 on the tree column for parts.
