For all you wannabe Directors... here's a thread to make and post your home made car movies. :drive:

After seeing Seth's 'Little Red Toy' Sunday Drive video...

    http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?p=594035&highlight=sunday+drive#post594035

...perhaps some of us could make "walkaround" vids of our cars and "drivearound" vids of our communities to show off our RIDES and show off our LOCATIONS (a little burnout here and there is kewl as well).

    I'd suggest:

    - 5-10 minutes duration
    - edited for content, pacing, and an informative aspect
    - YouTube for free storage and viewing compatibility. It takes time but really is quite easy.

I just got my first ever digital camcorder so NOW THAT IT'S RAINING AGAIN today I'm just playing with video capture and some video editing software. I'm writing this while YouTube converts my file to play in Flash.

    My first ever movie

I'll re-up this when I learn more editing. Also need a classic rock soundtrack.

Got a camcorder last week and managed to film a little bit before the battery died... then it got dark suddenly. Now I'm waiting for a little more sunshine to complete this.

Next week is the Mega Ford Weekend at Mission raceway. Hope to film some footage of the MMB members and the activities at the track.

Great way to kill a rainy day.

    ha ha!... this is fun.

Windows Movie Maker for those with XP (it's installed whether you want it or not as per usual Microsoft). I also have Pinnacle software for capture & editing. Cel phones with film/sound and a USB port makes this way too easy.

And think: 6 months from now, in the dead of winter, I can look back and relive these precious summer moments with my babies.

Thanks for bringing this up. I have thought about suggesting that everyone who could on this forum should make and post up just such a video so that people could get a GOOD look at each others cars/projects. especially those who are in areas too far away to attend mini meets/Gatherings/roundups ect.

I NEED to make a vid of my car just like you suggested and post it up.

The first video was the day after I brought it home and she had her first bath in at least 3 years.

Hey, Buddy Ray. Thanks for the reminder. ha! I went to the site where the vid was located (violation something.com) and it's been removed. 'Funny you'd remember that - I tried to forget it. :)

I would love to post all my videos, i have video from all 4 NMCC meet and greets, all 3 NMCC mini meets at Summit Ford , my first Maverick in the movie Deadboy II The Return 1992.13, my Comet in a parade (from inside the car) at the Canadian National Exhibition and a few other home videos. The problem is that they all have been taped on my old camcorder and it's not digital as it's from 1998. So i guess it's all lost in time or trapped on video tape i guess you could say.

Not necessarily... can be done on PC or a home stereo system. RCA jacks from a VCR to DVD recorders on home stereo then adapted on a PC, or USB 2.0 and firewire jacks right into the PC (easiest in WinXP) if it's included. sVideo if the camera has it. Sometimes you can jack camcorders into eachother.

Don't forget those old VHS tapes degrade and need to be put on DVD sometime so you can preserve the memories "forever".

I found an old home shot car video, but we dont have ANY functioning VCR's left in the house...
