Just in case I screw mine up, where can I get the replacement metal Comet emblems?

The chromed, cursive Comet logo behind the rear windows and on the trunk.

That's what I was afraid of.

Just tinkering with them a little while ago, seems easy enough to get them off.

Do they have any bracket behind them or are they just stuck through the sheet metal?

Got another question, the trim on the sides looks like it has a nut on the back side, what about the trim outlining the black on the top of my car?

Do I have to remove the headliner to pull that trim?

I can post pics if needed.

Barrel clips are holding on the side emblems. To remove the emblems, all you have to do is gently pry them off with a putty knife or screwdriver. Pry equally on all sides to keep you from benind the emblem.

There are nuts inside the trunk at the very bottom of the moldings. The rest of the trim just snaps off the plastic molding clips that is holding it on.

The barrel clips aren't fixed to the body are they?

I'll have to be able to get to the back, right?

The barrel clips just "snap" into the holes in the fender. If you are careful, you can leave them there and reuse them. More than likley they will be missing the rubber insulators that keeps the emblem from being pushed too far into the body. Not really required to hold on an emblem.

There is nothing on the backside to worry about/remove.

Awesome. This is sounding easier than I thought it would be.

    Thanks. :)
