Im curious what type of paint you guys are using to spray the black sections on a Comet GT. Im looking at old photos and it looks like its supposed to be eggshell or satin not gloss. Should they be painted in a single stage urethane or done in base/clearcoat with flattener? Any suggestions?

I did mine in "gloss black metallic". Matches the top & taillights. Everyone has there own taste. I'd go with whatever you like...

Im doing mine w/ semi-gloss. Im only doing a small amount, underhood, tail section and grill. I still have to do the grill and tail; I did underhood and like the look so will be doing the rest in semi. Also like "Coop" go with what u like.

Most ford product from the late 60's through early 70's used a egg shell textured laquer. For blackout areas
