I know this is old talk but I need to know the back spacing on your old draglites. I know a guy that has a set that are 15x8 with a 4 1/2 back spacing, just want to know if they will fit.

my wheels are 15x8 w/ 4.5" backspacing and I ran a 245 60 tire....when I put the 26x10" slicks on I had to grind on the leaf spring slightly to clearance for the sidewall.....I'm going to a 15x8.5 w/ 4" backspacing.....

Thanks and sorry about reversing the 1974 & Gt. Will you have to do any massaging to the wheelwells to get the new wheels to fit? That is an inch difference to the outside, the reason I ask is if you don't I should be able to run a 15x8 with a 3 1/2 bs without any trouble.

I had to grind on the leaf springs, cut the lip off the inside of the quarter panel and "massage" a little bit with a hammer. With street tires you won't have to do all this unless you go with a "huge" street tire. My problem was that drag slicks grow when you go down the dragstrip and the inside edge of the slick, not the sidewall but the inside edge of the tred was getting into my inner wheel well, just slightly though, so I knocked it in just a little bit with a hammer. The only reason I had to trim the quarter panel lip is because my car sits to low, if your car doesn't sit as low as mine you probably won't have a problem. HOpe this helps, let me know if you need anymore info!
