I installed my Granada console last night and today. Would have been a piece of cake, except I have a hang-on air system, and it complicated it greatly, but not to the point of insanity. I had to cut some of the top of the front off, to make it fit my shifter, so it looks a bit forward. But, I did not want to relocate my shifter, I like it there. I am going to make a door for the forward compartment and do something where the lights go...don't want those. When I figure it out, I'll post it up. Here are a couple pics. Hope you like it.

p.s. Much thanks to Wes for a very nice piece to work with.

Looks good, Earl! Will your cabin still get cold enough with those middle vents partially blocked? :D :D :D :D

Nice job Earl. Looks just like mine. Well almost! You need to put your gauges in the opening in the front. That's what I did. Makes it look alot better & they're functional. I did away with the idiot lights also. I've posted pictures of it on here, in another thread.

Terry; the a/c will still freeze you out. It only blocks the one vent. The other one still works fine, but is a bit blocked. BTW, did you ever get started on the red car?

Maverick73; the wheel is a Mustang wheel, aftermarket from a Mustang supply. They come in black or wood. The emblem is a door panel emblem. I ground the spikes off of the back, and superglued it. Works very well.

Earl, I've been spending time honing my welding skills. It looks like Dad and I are going to buy a TIG welder. Dad has a lot of projects that needs to be completed, but he can't see well enough anymore to do close tight welds. That's where I come in. I'm also taking some time to brush up and learn some new fabricating skills. I've to pick Dad's brain while I still got him. (y)

It looks great. I'm really glad that the install worked out and you are happy with the console.

The Mustang wheel is a really nice touch. I have a similar wood wheel in my Bronco II and I love the look. Just have to figure out something to jazz up the plain Grant horn cap on it.

Maverick73; I got the wheel at a place called Melvin's Classic Ford, in Conyers, Ga. Their web address is: www.melvinsclassicfordparts.com

The wheel is about $80 for the black foam grip, and $90 for the wood. The wood wheel is beautiful, but the black fits my car better. Don't know what they charge for shipping. Give them a try. However, if you have a local Mustang supply house, they can probably get you the same deal. Good luck!

Nice job Earl. I'm still working on mine and will post some pics after I get it in. Still waiting to change the carpet first.

Maverick73; this is a Grant wheel, and requires the kit. However, it came with the wheel. Good luck!
