console troubles

    hi guys i got a 71 mustang mach 1 shifter console just like the one in seths car:clap: but i neary destroyed it last night with paint stripper:slap: it is plastic and
    some retard painted it brown. its textured plastic so sanding is not an option.
    and if i just paint it black it will look like cr*p. got ey ideas for paint removal
    on plastic parts like this! eny help would be great!

    Thats a tough one. Only thing I can think of is to bead blast it.

    Well of course paint stuck to THAT plastic. Normally it would be peeling by itself but since you don't want it it stuck.

    Try some denatured alchohol and a brush? try it on an area you don't see first but that MAY work.

    ya know my shop chef sead the same thing but wont that eat the plastic away
    uless you move realy qwick!

    what about airbrush thinner or brake fluid that stuff gets paint off. but
    will it melt the plastic!

    it will soften some plastics and not others that;s why I said try it someplace you can't see first.

    Denatured alchohol is used to clean photos and film BTW

    thats what i did with the paint stripper! thank god it didnt ruin the top side
