anyone have any pics of consoles that they have made?my mav is a 3 spd,on the floor and i want to get some ideas.i tried the cheap mr.gasket kit and it looks like crap.(cheap rubber boot with a chrome bezel).every time you try to tighten down the screws they end up bowing and creasing the bezel.any pics or suggestions are greatly appreciated...or if anyone has one for sale, whether it be homemade,or from a mustang, etc.i'd be interested.thanks...chuck.

Yep, sure does. It is just a fancier version of the Granada console that people have put in Mavs. Here is the Granada one in Dennis' car.

since we are talking about consoles... anyone put a console in thier car with the bench seat? I know it would be short, but maybe house the floor shifter, some gauges, etc.

Its kind of off the topic, but I built a console out of plywood when I was in High School for my '65 fairlane it went from the dash sloped down and then leveled out as an armrest , I had all my guages in it and my stereo mounted in it, I covered it with automotive carpet, it looked really good it only cost me about $20 I even had a few people want me to build one for there car!

Oh yeah... Mercury Monarch consoles are basically the same as the Granada.

So... look for Lincoln Versailles, Mercury Monarch, and Ford Granada consoles. Too bad they are so hard to find, and then when you do find one, it's super expensive....... :(

I have bucket seats and the shifter on the column so I just grabed one of the super cheap things that holdes tapes and has a cupholder to use as a riser then mounted the armrest piece of the center console out of a 95 Volvo 850 GLE. It has four of the slide away tray style cup holders in it. (two front and two rear)

Now all I have to do is fix the rest of the interior.

For you guys with Granada/Monarch consoles, what did you use to attach it to the tranny hump? I've noticed that the Granadas and Monarchs have little brackets pop-riveted in that the console attaches to, but I neglected to pull them from the vehicle I got the console from. :( Am I going to need to fabricate brackets?

I actually used a console from a Merkur Scorpio... It's not an exact fit but surprisingly close and has built in power window/door lock switches as well. Sorry I don't have a pic of it.
