My family and I were visiting my parents after the car show last Saturday, and I asked mom about the 70 Grabber title. It was put in my name in an offroad title back when I was 12 or so, but I have never had the title in hand. Anyway, she digs it out, and in the envelope is also the 1976 paperwork from when they traded in the 70 Chevelle SS for the Maverick after having starter troubles. It shows what the mileage was in 76, the Highway Patrol inspection info, and the best part is the dealership that it came from. Of course I already had the owners manual and owner card. I would like to try to see if that dealer is still around, and maybe if they have a record of the transaction. THEN, I would like to try to get the Chevelle VIN to see what happened to it. It would be cool to find out its one of the high dollar Barrett-Jackson sellers or something. It would be better to find out its for sale cheap, and in the next town... I could just end up finding nothing too, which is more likely. 1970Grabber
Cool story I went looking for my 73 Duster years after I sold it so I had a police officer that I knew run the VIN and it came back as "not being registered in the Continental United States". I figured that meant it had to be an un-registered drag car or gone to Alaska, Hawaii or maybe Canada or just plain junked. Good luck in your quest
