Ok I decide to burn out all the fuel in my tank so i could put in a fresh tank. Well I never got to the end of the tank when it started shaking and running completely out of balance. I went down the road and it wouldnt accelerate at all. It just shaked really bad. When I put it in nuetral is revs up ok with just a little shaking so it is just when its under load. The car wouldnt go very fast at all. I put in a full tank and the problem is still continuing. Any ideas what it might be?

I have never heard of bad gas causing that not saying it isn't possible though, bad gas would generally cause a pinging noise or possibly cause the engine to sputter esp if there is water in it. If the car shakes that badly the motor mounts might be loose or bad altogether check to make sure the mount bolts are all secure and tight and all accounted for (i'm missing one on mine but it hasn't caused it to shake yet but I plan to replace it as soon as I can). Also check all of the mounts themselves very throughrougly for any signs of cracking. Hope this helps

    Bad Gas?

Sounds like you may have water in the fuel, pull the air filter off the carb with engine off and move the accelerator to wide open and then let it shut letting a full squirt of full settle on the butterflys. Sometimes you can see the water beads on the throttle plates. A good gas dryer like Heet or the like may help. It could also be some rust has gotten lodged in the carb or filter and is restricting the fuel flow. There is a chance it may be some other problem that has appeared out of the depths of the little gremlins cache that we all have known at one time or another. Coil, distributor, plugs or wires? I'm betting on water contamination. Process of elimination should find what it is. Good luck.

i'd check for the water like the others say, but i'd also change out the fuel filter. this is probably the cheapest place to start. good luck.

i had water in the tank of an ol dog fart (dodge dart) I used to have.

Spent hundreds trying to diagnose it!!!

go to parts store and get some good gas tank/carb cleaner that removes moisture--worked beautiful for me
