Ok, I had a question about water in the cowl vent. I was washing my car and when i got inside i noticed that there was liquid on the floor mat. I though that it was my heatercore going out on me.

If the liquid smells like anti freeze and has an oily texture that is typically the heatercore Right? cause i dont think that the leaking water though the cowl vents would be like that.

And this has happend once and hasnt happends since.

Just pour a cup of water down the cowl from outside and see if the water goes inside the car. If it doesn't..it's probably the heater core, and if it does, then it's the cowl....or the cowl AND the heater core.

Sometimes heater cores will spring a real quick little leak and then go back to behaving. My suburban did it to me like that 3 or 4 years ago and has not done it again. When they start fogging up your inside glass then it is time to fix them for sure.

if you have ac,it might be the drain hole that goes through the floor that comes off the heater box. hose may have a crack in it.

Yeah i do have AC but i never use it. Why did Ford put AC in the Mavericks. I prefer the floor vents, my dad and i were riding in our old Caddi and it was about 100 degrees and we never got hot. Not to mention that the AC unit is heavy.
