Well, as luck would have it... Im out of a motor again for my Comet.
When I bough the car it had a 80 model shortblock in it. Flat tops, standard crank, etc.
    Tore it apart.
Pulled out 2 allen head screws on the block to put in drain petcocks in it... and the block cracked on each one.
Good waste of a 2 piece rear main stanard block.
    Just as my luck goes.
Hopefully I'll get another one and get it going again soon.
Was dying to go racing as I've put this off for over a year and thought I was getting close to racing again.
Course, I could just throw the 351 in there, but it's bone stock 2 barrel motor from a 82 Bronco... don't think it'd run quite as well.
Anyways, just wanted to share the bad racing luck.

I just used my last block this year it is a 1972 block the roller block cracked in the #2 main. The main girdle saved the motor just had to do a block. The old blocks are hard to come by. There crushing all the old cars. Hope you find one soon.

It allows more water to come out the motor when pulling it.
One is on the front side, one on the rear... opposite sides
Old Guy, Mavman, and Redneckboy here all do it so I was giving it a try.
Oh well atleast I didn't get to much work into the motor before it was cracked
Just opened up the oil holes, ground off some of the unnecessary stuff on the block etc, and put in screw in plugs in it.
Not a big deal... but just don't have a block that will use my 2 piece main seal STD crank.
    I'll find something eventually.

Guess maybe I may be able to help ol Andy out. Got a std. bore block that I will build for him using his parts. Have several one piece rear seal cranks so I can exchange one for his two piece. I will sell him the block and do the rebuild for 100.00 using his already purchased parts etc. I remember when he helped me out at the racetrack so I always try to repay those who care about racing and such. Am going to start on it this afternoon, Andy, I will let you know which mains to get when I dig out a crank off the rack. May need you to get some cam bearings and a rear seal. That should do it, till we get to the tranny.
