cranking amps...

    any idea how many amps are on the switch to solenoid wire when cranking?

    Are you referring to the FORD fender well solenoid??

    I dunno but I can measure one, I'd guess four or five amps.

    At 12v, 3A. Pulls in at approx 8.5v, drops out at just under 3V.

    So a chattering relay means under starter load, battery voltage is falling to less than three volts.
    (not that you asked, I like learnin' stuff)
