Seems the prices keep going up for parts for the "lowly Maverick" - a little bit beyond my budget but a nice bumper :)

I paid 100 for a perfectly straight front bumper and it does have a few scuffs and a few small scratches that I believe I will be perfectly happy with it. Most of the cars, that I see at local car shows, have this slightly used appearence.

If you have a fair bumper, and need it fixed and rechromed, Southern Bumper here in GA does it for $275. Might be worth a trip.

Market will dictate if it will sell at the new higher price. Front bumpers seem to be the hardest ones to find.

I'd actually rather have mine rechromed. I have to go to training in Atlanta from time to time....it would be nice if I could ship my bumper ahead of time and pick it up while I was there. I'll make a note of the business name. Thanks

He sells them around the 300 mark. I've watched a few of them. He sells some nice pieces.

Depending on how much they have to do to get your bumper up-to-speed for rechroming makes a difference too. I was a lucky man and found an original front bumper on a car and it only has a couple of scratches (on the underside)--really I did. The rear bumper had a couple of spots on it that had some surface rust and was pushed in a bit where the lic plate area is so I took that baby and sent her in. They fixed it and re-chromed it for just under $300. I picked up the pair of bumpers and a bunch of other parts of that car for $60! Great deal! Oh, I just took 0000 wool to the front bumper and mounted the thing. Love that stuff. So if you can find a decent bumper core you can almost send that off and have it done for those prices--but you have to wait; but you'll know where you got it chromed, which I think is important.

It seems like this guy would blast and repaint his bumper brackets, since he sells such nice bumpers. Bumpers are ready for "any restoration", as his ebay ad states, but the brackets leave something to be desired. He would have more of a professional first impression, if he did, I think.

True, but then you would have to pay 3 times his asking price for the parts. I would rather pay the $70 and then detail them myself.

They would cost me $98.52, 80.00 buy it know and 18.52 shipping. At almost $100.00, they are already about, at their worth, with time and materials added to the price, I would be dead in the water. But, he has the advantage, he already owns them.

Chrome plating has gone up considerably in the last couple of years. If this is truely 'show chrome', which normally means triple plated. That is not a bad deal if you do not have to do a core exchange.
