I need a new carpet for my Comet. Got samples from Autokrafters and found the right color, but the length of the threads in the sample is much shorter 3/16" than original carpet which has approx 3/8" long threads.

Has anybody bought a cut pile carpet from Autokrafters?
The carpet costs around $150 + shipping.
Where can I find good quality cut pile carpet?

Are you sure, the carpet sure looks original, it is molded to the shape of the floor and is so old and rotten that I can tear it with my fingers like paper.

Is it possible that cut pile is a part of the Luxury Decor Option (trimcode PU)?

Found this on the JC Whitney site, maybe this is what I'm looking for.
This is from Newark auto anybody have experience with these carpets??

CUSTOM-TAILORED POLYPROPYLENE LOOP CARPETING
• Cut pile is 3/8"H and smooth face
• Nylon with a cut pile weave
• Originally used in the late 1970s and 1980s cars
The carpet is long wearing and has a thick velvety feel underfoot. Rich looking and fits vehicle perfectly. The cut pile weave has a smooth finish which fits the vehicle floor curves and center hump perfectly. Good-looking and affordable carpeting rejuvenates vehicle's interior. Exposed edges are protected with reinforced binding - no unraveling. Matching color vinyl heel plate/pad. Features extra-thick underpadding for comfort and insulation. To receive a color fabric sample(s), call (877) 927-7427 and request the color(s) you would like.

Interesting ... is custom-tailored the same as molded?

Edit:

http://www.newark-auto.com/2003car.htm

Custom-Tailored is sewn to fit ... not molded. Still looks like a possibility for LDO restorations. I think one of you guys should order one and see how it looks!

Wow thanks

250 bucks, it better be good for that money. 22 ounces, does that tell us how long the threads are?
