Hello. This is my first posting to the Maverick/Comet Forum, although I have been involved with Mavericks for a while. My name is Dale Suich, and I'm from Dearborn, Michigan, the home of a well-known car company. Although I don't work for FoMoCo, I still have a passion for the cars and trucks known as First On Race Day. I own a 1977 Maverick, 4-door, tan in color, with a 250 six, and this is the only Maverick/Comet I presently own. My very first car was also a '77, that car being a 2-door, also with a 250 six. I have owned my present Maverick since 1999, although my introduction to a club or organization was in 2000 when I ordered carpet for the Maverick. In the catalog there was an application for at the time, the previous name of the Maverick/Comet Club International, which I can't remember right now. My contact with other Maverick/Comet owners has been with the, what I think, a successful national meet in Indiana, as well as local meets at no where else but at the Ford World Headquarters. I don't have a picture of my car to post right now, but if I can figure it out, I'll post a picture. My car has been posted on the MCCI's website's national meets from the past few years. I hope to hear from, and read more of, the postings that are part of this forum. Take it easy. Note: I wanted to send this yesterday, but for some reason, it didn't post.
Welcome Dale. Nice to meet you and hear about your Maverick. You and I have two things in common already. I also have a 77' Maverick and my husband's name is Dale too. Good to have you here.

Yeah Dale, it is red. I forgot it was in one of the Shorthorns issues. You'll need to send in a picture of yours so it can be in an issue too.
Hey Dale, took you long enough to get here. The next issue of Shorthorns has a picture of your car in it. Its the one parked next to the gas pumps.
Welcome Dale....you many be a stranger here....but your definitely not a stranger to the Maverick world. Have seen Dale the last 4 years at the Round-Up.
Thanks Don, and my comet gt. As for Mavaholic and Craig, both of you have kept me inspired enough to keep my Maverick when I thought I wouldn't be keeping it. It did take me quite a while to get my name on the board, but I'm now glad I did. I have been to the last four Round-ups, and that'll be my next posting I'll need to respond to about this year's Round-up. Thanks for selecting my picture for the next issue of Shorthorns. I appreciate it.
