So my column shift has decided to start slipping into Reverse when I try to park (which'll fail an inspection). My question is, where do I go next? Should I replace the bearings or search for a new shaft to gut for a certain part? Does anyone have a shaft they'd be willing to get rid of if that's the case?
The bushings are in the linkage, about the only thing inside the column that could be an issue is the detent or the point on the end of the shift lever which is pretty unlikely. The adjustment should be at the bottom of the rod coming off the column.
As stated...the bushings in the linkage. I would start with checking the adjustment where the rod connects to the trans.
All the black bushings for all the linkage pieces from the column down to the trans. They look pretty good in that picture.
Oh boy. Well it's too cold to creep under there tonight. Will post a pic of the linkage tomorrow or whenever it's nice outside.
Looks like the nut was in a different spot on the linkage before....so it probably needs to be readjusted.
