Can someone please tell me how I can remove the vinyl paded dash cover? Thanks! Acuaticus Restoring a 72' Comet
There are 9 nuts across the top and a small bolt on each end. If you have a factory AC car, you'll have to remove the ducting too. Removing the package tray or lower dash will make it easier. To make things easier, anytime I will be under a dash for awhile, I take the front seat out. Only 4 easy nuts for a bench, and 8 for buckets. This sure makes it more comfortable and only takes about 5 minuits. Unless you like being a contortionist.
Read my article "Dash Pad Removal" in the Tech Articles section of this site. http://www.maverick.to/mmb/showthread.php?t=36288 It explains everything you need to know in detail with pictures.
Actually there are 10 nuts including the one cussing at what he has to go through to take the pad off and just not putting a dash cap on instead
