Hey, does anyone know if the deluxe gas cap can be taken apart? The reason, I have seen a lot of the Comet ones on ebay before, and the Comet ones don't sell for nearly as much as the Maverick ones. Just wondered if the back could be taken apart and the plastic logo area exchanged. I'm not sure if those are put together with screws or rivets, and since I don't have one, I can't check!

Has anyone tried to do this?

    Thanks!

I looked at the back of my son's and they look like the rivets ould be ground off and the whole thing taken apart. I noticed that the New Maverick SUV sold in Europe has the same type emblems on the center caps of the wheels and was wondering if you could shape the plastic out of one of those for either the front emblem or the gas cap.

I've replaced the attaching cable by grinding the rivets and re-attaching with screws....

Hmm, I may have to try to take mine apart then. Mine would be perfect but it has a crack right across the center of the plastic.
