I was driving to work today when I had to slam on my breaks suddenly when the truck in front of me came to a screeching halt. He saw the glass on the ground and over-reacted to it. I barely made a stop behind him, since my 4 drum breaks don't do so well - and looked for the culprit. The first thing I saw was a Ford cargo van with it's face smashed in. Then I saw some nice classic lines and red paint. Before me sat what looked to be a small-bumper, two-door, red Maverick that had been sideswiped pretty badly, didn't look like much glass was left at all. I drove by slowly, upset that this was the closest I'd ever physically been to another Maverick owner. This was on Cave Creek & the 101, or just past, maybe at Rose Garden. Did that car belong to anyone here?
That sucks. I saw a BRAND NEW F150 with the front smashed in bad today at the same intersection I wrecked my '74 Grabber. Hit a Chevy truck. Still had the paper dealer plate on it.
i guess while were on the topic of car crashes. would it be in bad taste to hang around an accident scene to see if you can buy whats left of the wreckage from the owner? lol j/k though i have considered it once or twice
Don, Gene, and Skaz, we need to meet up one day. Except for Don we all live within 30 miles of each other and relatively close to the 101 freeway. How about the 83rd ave and Beardsley car show one Sat. night?
I know I can't go this Saturday. Or next. The next one is fine for now, though. Besides, my Comet will hopefully be running before next Saturday.. or the next. I hope. My pop's coming to visit this weekend and I work every other Saturday.
Oh, and I hope no one takes offense of my jalopy of a '74. She's a piece, but she gets me everywhere I need to be.
Is your 74 a darker orange? I saw one turning north onto Tatum off the 101 around 500pm today. My car is good to go for now. I am off most Saturdays by 500pm. Pick a date that you are available a couple weeks from now and we will let the other guys know when it is going to happen.
My 74 is a mix of primer colors. My 73 is a nice mild orange. Are you in the Tatum/101 area frequently? I work up there.
